Installation Principles for Composite Eye Wash Stations
Eye wash stations must be installed near hazardous work areas.
The distance to reach the eye wash station should be within 10 or 15 meters in a straight line.
The rescue point must be cleaned and cleared of all obstacles.
There should be no electrical switches or other electrical interfaces around the eye wash station.
It must be connected to a potable water source.
Water source pressure should be ≥0.2 MPa.
Provide a water source interface of ≥1 inch NPT.
Shower heads and eye wash stations must be cleaned and tested weekly.
Proper guidance on the correct use of safety equipment must be provided to operators.
Cleaning of the eyes and face should be carried out for a minimum of 10 or 15 minutes.
Spraying should last for at least 5 or 10 minutes. Specific Installation Steps for Composite Eye Wash Stations
Follow the installation drawings provided by the manufacturer and install step by step.
Drill holes of 3-10mm in size at the location where the eye wash station needs to be installed, according to the installation hole size of the eye wash station base.
Assemble the eye wash station step by step according to the eye wash station drawings. (Note: Eye wash and spray should not be on the same plane. The spray should rotate 45-90 degrees to the left of the eye wash).
Install the assembled eye wash station in the designated position and secure it with expansion screws.
Connect the inlet, with an inlet size of 1-1/4 inch NPT.
Connect the outlet, with an outlet size of 1-1/4 inch NPT.
